Localizado mesmo no centro do Porto, na histórica rua de Santa Catarina e ao lado do icónico Mercado do Bolhão, este pequeno apartamento é o sítio ideal para passar uns dias ou semanas, sozinho ou acompanhado por quem mais gosta!

We want you to feel at home!

Based on this premise, we prepare our house to welcome you.
Located right in Porto's city centre, in the historic Santa Catarina's Street (Rua de Santa Catarina) and right next to the iconic Bolhão's Market (Mercado do Bolhão), this cosy flat is ideal to spend a few days or weeks by yourself or enjoying the company of your loved ones!

As the flat is only a 2 minutes walk from a Metro's station (our "Underground"), you could easily travel to other places of interest that might be a bit far away from the Porto's city centre (Baixa do Porto).

Como chegar | How to get there

By metro (subway):

There's a station of the subway right at the airport (Aeroporto). 

You will catch the E line (Aeroporto - Estádio do Dragão). At the metro station there is a machine, where you can buy your ticket (the ticket is called Andante). 

You have to buy one Andante per person!

In the machine, you can change it to english, you choose "buy", then you have to pick the Z4 journey, and buy as many journeys as you want (since everything is near the apartment, you can buy just one at first).

You can buy as many travels as you like on your Andante. 
Each travel allows you to travel within 1 hour through different stations. 

Everytime you enter the metro, you have to validate your Andante before (there's a yellow detector in the station, you just have to pass the Andante there).

You will be out on the Bolhão station. Which is 1 minute walking from our apartment, so it's really nearby. 

The adress is: Rua de Santa Catarina, number 450, 3rd floor . It's a green door, next to a waffle shop.

Located in the Aliados area in the historical Café Imperial. The company has retained both internal and external features of this magnificent 1940s café, including the Imperial Eagle on the façade, the decorative friezes and the Art Deco glasswork.

A 10 minutos de distância do apartamento.
A imponência do seu conjunto arquitectónico e o seu carácter central fazem desta Avenida a "sala de visitas" da cidade, sendo o local por excelência onde os portuenses se concentram para celebrar momentos especiais. Edifícios em granito, muitos deles coroados de lanternins, cúpulas e coruchéus. Marcada por uma ampla placa central completamente calcetada por paralelepípedos de granito, onde ganham vida estátuas e onde o Espelho de Água merece destaque . Encontra no seu topo norte o edifício da Câmara Municipal.

The imposing architecture and its central character turn this Avenue into the city's "living room". It becomes a location of excellence where the people of Porto gather to celebrate special times. There are granite buildings, many of which are crowned with skylights, domes and pinnacles. It is marked by a large central square completely paved with granite cobblestones, where statues come to life and where the reflecting pool is worth highlighting. The City Hall is located at the head of the Avenida.

A 10 minutos de distância do apartamento.
Foi edificada no princípio do séc. XX no preciso local onde existiu o Convento de S. Bento de Avé-Maria, com cobertura de vidro e ferro fundido, da autoria do arquitecto Marques da Silva. O átrio está revestido com vinte mil azulejos historiados, do pintor Jorge Colaço, que ilustram a evolução dos transportes e cenas da história e vida portuguesas.

The S. Bento Railway Station was built at the beginning of the twentieth century on the exact location of the former Convent of S. Bento de Avé-Maria. The glass and iron structure was designed by the architect Marques da Silva. The vestibule is adorned with twenty thousand tiles painted by Jorge Colaço that illustrate the transport evolution and events of Portuguese history and life.

A 7 minutos de distância do apartamento.
Na Praça da Batalha encontra-se a estátua em bronze de Rei D. Pedro V, representado de pé com cabeça descoberta e envergando uniforme militar de tenente-general. Teixeira Lopes (pai) é o autor desta obra que foi inaugurada em fevereiro de 1866. Está colocada num pedestal monumental em forma octogonal, relevado nas quatro faces. A face principal está orientada a poente e contem os emblemas da religião, tendo a face do lado sul os emblemas da indústria; na face este estão representado os emblemas da agricultura e do lado norte os emblemas das artes.

Teixeira Lopes (senior) is the author of this sculpture inaugurated in February 1866. With a monumental octagonal pedestal, it has bas-reliefs in four surfaces, with the main facing north and showing the symbols of religion. The surface facing west shows the symbols of industry; the surface facing south, the symbols of agriculture; and the eastern surface shows the symbols of the arts. All the surfaces have inscriptions. The octahedrals have four panels, over which one can see the coat of arms of Portugal, of Porto, and of Saxe-Coburgo-Gotha. The statue stands on top of the pedestal. The base, also octagonal, is set on four steps. Over the steps are four medallions with the inscription of the names of the main contributors. The monument is surrounded by a melted iron railing, interrupted by eight pilasters.

A 15 minutos de distância do apartamento.
Obra barroca, da autoria de Nicolau Nasoni, construída na primeira metade do século XVIII. A Torre é um dos monumentos mais emblemáticos da cidade do Porto. A vista panorâmica sobre a cidade e o rio Douro, que se alcança do alto da Torre, vale bem o esforço de subir a escadaria com cerca de 240 degraus.

15 minutes distance from de apartment.
This baroque work by Nicolau Nasoni was built in the first half of the eighteenth century. The Clérigos Tower is one of the most emblematic monuments of the city of Porto. The panoramic view over the city and the river Douro which can be seen from the top of the tower makes the 240 step climb worth the effort.

A 15 minutos de distância do apartamento.
O atual edifício em que se encontra instalada foi inaugurado em 1906. Distingue-se pela sua belíssima fachada Arte Nova, com apontamentos neogóticos. No seu interior destacam-se a decoração em gesso pintado imitando madeira, a escada de acesso ao piso superior - uma das primeiras construções de cimento armado da cidade do Porto -, e o grande vitral existente no tecto, que ostenta o monograma e a divisa da livraria: "Decus in Labore". Em 2008 o jornal inglês The Guardian considerou-a a terceira mais bela do mundo, a mesma classificação atribuída pelo Lonely Planet, no seu guia "Lonely Planet's Best in Travel 2011", sendo descrita como "uma pérola de arte nova", destacando as "prateleiras neo-góticas" e a "escadaria vermelha em espiral".

The building where the library is now located was inaugurated in 1906. Special mention goes to its beautiful Art Nouveau façade with neo-Gothic details. On the inside, the library is decorated in painted plaster imitating wood and presents a magnificent staircase linking it to the upper floor - one of the first reinforced concrete works in Porto. Also worthy of attention is the huge stained-glass skylight, bearing the library's monogram and motto: 'Decus in Labore'. In 2008, the English newspaper The Guardian considered this library the world's third most beautiful, as did the Lonely Planet in its guide "Lonely Planet's Best in Travel 2011", describing it as an 'Art Nouveau gem', and particularly mentioning its 'neo-Gothic shelves' and the 'lolloping red staircase'.

A 5 minutos de distância do apartamento.
Fundado em 1921 é considerado um dos mais belos exemplares de Arte Nova na cidade do Porto, com uma atmosfera de requinte e bem-estar. A sua beleza e o seu significado na cidade do Porto valeram-lhe a classificação de Imóvel de Interesse Público em 1983, e de "património cultural" da cidade, possibilitando um processo de recuperação que permitiu a sua reabertura em 1994, com todo o seu antigo esplendor, convidando a reviver a fascinante Belle Époque. A biografia de J. K. Rowling, escrita por Sean Smith, refere que quando a escritora estava a viver no Porto, passava muito tempo no Majestic a trabalhar no primeiro livro de "Harry Potter'. O Majestic, segundo o testemunho de um cliente, seria também o local preferido de Kubitschek, antigo presidente do Brasil.

Founded in 1921, it is considered to be one of the most beautiful and representative examples of Art Nouveau in Porto exuding an atmosphere of luxury, refinement and well-being. Its inherent beauty and its importance in the life of the city of Porto have deservedly led it to be classified as a building of public interest in 1983 and as a cultural heritage site thus allowing a full renovation programme to be undertaken culminating in its reopening in 1994, inviting customers to relive the fascinating Belle Époque. In J.K Rowling's biography, written by Sean Smith, it said that when the writer was living in Porto she used to spend quite a long time at the Majestic, working on the first book of 'Harry Potter'. The Majestic, according to a testimony from a client, would also be the favourite spot of Kubitshek, former president of Brazil.

A 5 minutos de distância do apartamento.
O Mercado do Bolhão é o mercado mais emblemático da cidade e foi classificado como imóvel de interesse público em 2006. Remonta a 1850, com uma estrutura singular e dois pisos, caracterizando-se pela monumentalidade própria da arquitectura neoclássica. Exteriormente, o mercado divide-se num grande número de estabelecimentos, voltados para as quatro ruas que o delimitam: Fernandes Tomás, a norte, Alexandre Braga, a este, Formosa, a sul, e Sá da Bandeira a oeste. É vocacionado sobretudo para produtos frescos. Os vendedores estão divididos em diferentes secções especializadas, designadamente: zona de peixarias, talhos, hortícolas e florais.

5 minutes distance from the apartment. The Bolhão Market is the most famous in the city and in 2006 it was classified as a place of public interest. Dating back to 1850, with a singular structure with two floors, it is characterised by the monumentality of its neoclassic architecture. On the exterior, the market is divided into a large number of shops, facing the four surrounding roads: Fernandes Tomás, to the North, Alexandre Braga, to the East, Formosa, to the South, and Sá da Bandeira to the West. Dedicated mainly at fresh products, its sellers are divided into different specialised sections, namely: fishmongers, butchers, green grocers and florists.

A 1 minuto de distância do apartamento.

Construída nos princípios do séc. XVIII. Da mesma época data a imagem de Nª Srª das Almas, que se encontra no seu interior. Em 1929, todo o exterior foi revestido de azulejos representando passos da vida de S. Francisco de Assis e de Santa Catarina. Em 1982 foram objecto de recuperação.

Chapel built at the beginning of the eighteenth century. From the same period is the image of Nossa Senhora das Almas (Our Lady of the Souls), which is inside. In 1929, the entire exterior was covered with tiles representing scenes from the life of St. Francis of Assisi and St. Catherine. Those tile panels were recovered in 1982.
